I saw you stopped by my blog. I have been a follower of yours for a little while. I teach only reading and writing. I hear my role will change next year as well. I miss teaching social studies. I love the Sign of the Beaver because it fits so well with fifth grade social studies. There is a movie based on it (old). It is called Keeping the Promise. My kids like comparing books to the movies. They do a writing.

I had two groups of students use this book for Book Clubs this year. It has been one of my favorites for a long time. I love the relationship between the boys and how they learn from each other. Have fun!
