I wanted to share with my bloggy friends a few projects and things I want to complete this summer courtesy of Pinterest. If you have completed any of these projects and have any tips, let me know or if you have seen something that I need to know about, let me know!
I found this recently and think it is an amazing concept... putting the objectives in "kid-friendly" terms.
I've seen lots of people post this teacher organizer and I think it is an amazing idea...
I love these words of positivity as the students enter the room... Luckily, Mrs. WIlson over at Confessions of a Teaching Junkie has already made an awesome version so all I will have to do is print, cut, and laminate. Yay!!
I use these type of drawers to keep our community supplies in and I can't stand that you can see inside... so excited to cute them up!!

Each time we make a memory, the students write it on a strip of paper and then we pull them out and talk about them the last week of school. This would work well with our memory books! :)
This last year as a grade level we had a problem with students not giving their all. I plan on making this and laminating it to hang in the classroom year round. I might even make one for each of the teachers in my pod, so the students no what to expet no matter whose class they are in.
I feel the same way about this one as I do the poster above... This is an awesome concept and something the students should see in every class. Stephanie over at 3rd Grade Thoughts has made this into print and laminate posters...yay!!
I have several other things I plan on doing and will share all of my completed projects over at Tara's linky party she has every Monday. Hope everyone is having an amazing summer so far!! :)
OMG- I love your blog! I just accepted a new position teaching 5th grade ELA and your blog is definitely going to be a great resource for me! I've been teaching 2nd grade for 6 years and a 1/2 split for the past two... I'm excited about my new adventure, but know I'm going to need help! Your blog looks like an awesome resource!

Thanks for stopping by... this will be my third year in 5th grade and I moved from 2nd to 5th just like you! I am still trying to figure out "what works", but am always looking for other 5th grade teachers to bounce ideas off of. (I actually used to follower your webpage and refer to it frequently... what a coincidence) Welcome to 5th grade... You'll love it!! :)
DeleteYou have pinned several of the same ones I want to make. I love love love the kid friendly objectives AND where they assess their knowledge!
